Monday’s update for Bexhill, St Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, Ore, Battle and Eastbourne focuses on planned overnight road closures and late-night changes at Gatwick. Earlier weekend warnings should not be treated as live alerts for today.

Roads: A27 Southerham–Berwick closures start tonight

National Highways lists both directions of the A27 between Southerham and Berwick roundabouts for overnight closure on 19–24 October, 9pm–6am. The signed diversion uses the A26 and A22 through Little Horsted and Polegate. Allow extra time for journeys using this section, especially late airport returns and early departures. Further overnight closures affect Offington–Grove Lodge, Worthing, on 22–23 October, also 9pm–6am. Official Sussex works schedule.

On the Portsmouth approach, A27 Langstone interchange westbound overnight closures are listed for 19–23 October, 8pm–6am. These are separate from the weekend closure whose scheduled end was 6am today. Follow signed diversions and check live conditions before departure. Langstone notice.

Rail: late-night Reading–Gatwick changes tonight

Engineering works between Gomshall and Redhill affect two GWR services on Monday 19 October. The 23:33 Reading–Gatwick train terminates at Guildford, with a replacement bus scheduled to reach Gatwick at 02:03. The 23:22 Gatwick–Reading train terminates at Redhill, with a replacement bus towards Guildford and a rail connection onward. Check the full arrangements if connecting with a flight; this is not a cancellation of all Gatwick rail services. National Rail details.

Looking ahead, Havant engineering work affects journeys between 24 October and 1 November. During 26–30 October, Southern services terminate at Chichester and Waterloo–Portsmouth Harbour services at Petersfield, with replacement buses. Passengers travelling by rail towards Southampton or Portsmouth should check their exact itinerary. Half-term service arrangements.

Flights: continuing Saudi warning and connection suspension

FCDO advice checked today remains against all travel within 10km of the Yemen border and against all but essential travel to the rest of Saudi Arabia. Confirm plans with your airline or tour operator before leaving for Gatwick or Heathrow, and check insurance implications. This warning does not confirm whether an individual flight is cancelled. Current Saudi Arabia advice.

Emirates’ notice dated 5 October continues to list its codeshare flights operated by flydubai to/from Tel Aviv as suspended until further notice. Check any affected onward connection directly; UK–Dubai services should not be assumed cancelled. Airline notice.

Seaport journeys: reconfirm terminal and check-in

For Southampton cruise and Portsmouth ferry transfers, allow for route-specific roadworks and check the latest sailing information with your operator. Road access disruption does not itself mean a sailing is cancelled.

This is a dated snapshot, not a live travel feed or exhaustive cancellation list. Conditions and planned works can change. Check your airline, rail or ferry operator and current road conditions before travelling.
