Local roads – Bexhill, St Leonards and Hastings
Monday planning: Barrack Road, Bexhill repairs outside No. 20 are scheduled for 26–30 October, 8am–4pm daily. Vehicle access between No. 20 and the cul-de-sac end will be unavailable once excavation starts; pedestrian and emergency access remain. Agree collection points beforehand. Official notice.
B2095 Hooe: the road between the A269 and A259 junctions is scheduled to close 26 October–7 November, 7pm–6am, with no weekend working. Follow the signed A269/A2690/A259 diversion. Property access will be managed by the site team. Official notice.
A21/Whitworth Road, Hastings: no weekend working is planned for the drainage scheme. Temporary lights are scheduled again on 26–30 October, 8pm–6am. Official schedule.
This is a selective list, including connecting routes used by St Leonards drivers. The complete live utility and emergency-works map was not verified in this check; consult East Sussex Highways’ roadworks map before travelling.
Rail: Southampton replacement buses begin today
Today and tomorrow, 24–25 October: buses replace trains between Havant and Southampton Central. On Sunday, buses also run between Guildford and Petersfield. Allow longer connections for Southampton cruises and Portsmouth ferries.
26–30 October: Southern services terminate at Chichester and Waterloo–Portsmouth trains at Petersfield. Replacement buses run Petersfield–Portsmouth Harbour, Chichester–Portsmouth Harbour and Chichester–Southampton Central. Network Rail details.
Yesterday’s Sussex storm suspensions should not be assumed to continue today. Check your particular train on National Rail; continuing storm notices affect other parts of the national network and may affect onward connections.
Heathrow roads: closure moved to next weekend
The M25 junction 15 anticlockwise closure previously planned for tonight has been postponed. It is now scheduled for 8pm Saturday 31 October–10am Sunday 1 November, between the M4 slip roads. Clockwise traffic and M25/M4 links are due to remain open. Updated official notice.
Flights and ferries
Saudi Arabia’s FCDO airport-security warning remains current on 24 October, following its 21 October update. Passengers with Saudi flights or connections should read the current advice and confirm their individual booking with the airline before travelling to Gatwick or Heathrow. No individual flight cancellation is asserted in this report.
For Portsmouth ferry journeys, check your exact sailing with Brittany Ferries. A complete sailing-by-sailing status could not be verified for this snapshot.
Dated snapshot: check road conditions and your train, flight, ferry or cruise operator again before departure. Work schedules and services can change after publication.
